Methuen-Tewksbury Takes MVC Title With End-of-Year Winning Streak

The water squad looked unlikely to repeat as league champs before an epic run to end the year.

After a 1-3 start to the fall season, it was looking highly improbable that the Methuen-Tewksbury Red Rangers swim and dive team would repeat as MVC2 champions.

Then the Rangers went on a six-meet win streak to end the season, culminating in a 99-79 win over Lowell on Oct. 25 to clinch their second straight regular-season league title.

The Red Rangers will next compete in the MVC individual championships on Nov. 3 at 10:30 a.m. at the WPI Sports and Rec Center in Worcester.
