Methuen-Tewksbury Swim and Dive Team Crowned MVC Champions

The team earned its second straight post-season title with an impressive showing in Worcester.

The Methuen-Tewksbury Red Rangers swim and dive team had already stormed back from a 1-3 start to win their final six meets and take their second consecutive regular-season title this fall.

On Sunday, Nov. 3, the team put an exclamation mark on their achievements by earning the championship at the MVC meet in Worcester.

In individual events, Emily Loan finished second in the diving event with a score of 191.30. Kyra Donahue finished second in the 100 freestyle and the 400 freestyle relay finished fifth overall.

Head coach Jason Smith said the team’s second straight MVC2 meet title is a testament to the hard work put in by the Red Rangers, especially after graduating so much veteran talent last year.

The season is not over for the coop team, as they head to North Sectionals on Sunday.
